Date 4 December 2023 ago, The Blogger world was shocked by information about the price of the .net domain being sold by GoDaddy at a price of IDR 28,000.00 for a period of time. 10 year. I got this information through a Facebook group WordPress Indonesia and INDO BLOGGER
Curious, I rushed to open the Godaddy site and it turned out to be true. I managed to buy a .net domain for IDR 28,091 for a period of time 10 Year, payment via Debit card.
I also felt happy because I got a .net domain at a cheap price 10 year.
In the purchase package, I got a free trial of the website during 14 days and will automatically be billed after 14 day if I don't cancel. (why? even though I didn't choose to subscribe to it)
However, My excitement disappeared after I got the email in the morning, not until 24 hours after domain purchase on GoDaddy.
GoDaddy Cancels Domain
GoDaddy canceled the domain I had purchased. O'clock 6 morning, I received an email from them about domain deletion.
In his email, they stated that there was an error in the purchase of a domain name that I recently purchased for $0,00 plus ICANN fees. Because of this error, GoDaddy has removed the domain name and will refund my account for ICANN fees.
I think, is it possible for a company as big as GoDaddy to make a mistake like this? Or, Maybe this is a trick they engineered to collect funds or the number of users at the end of the year 2023?
Instantly, my view changed 180 degrees about GoDaddy. Initially I was amazed, turned into suspicion with various negative thoughts because GoDaddy canceled my domain.
Therefore, after GoDaddy canceled my domain, I am thinking about needing to delete the debit card payment method that I have registered on their site.
Although I have not subscribed to the domain, I can't delete the debit card immediately, because the card is listed as a payment method for website subscriptions (which I did not choose). And I had to delete all their product subscriptions.
Disappointed with GoDaddy
I'm not the only one disappointed with GoDaddy, Many fellow group members also felt the same way because GoDaddy canceled the domain unilaterally.
